I recently picked up some cherries and Pops absolutely loved them. She enjoyed them so much she asked for them for her school fruit snack (I’m not sure she realised she’d have to wait 5 weeks when she asked).
I won’t lie, I hate de stoning cherries. I end up cutting up and wasting so much of the fruit it hardly seems worth it sometimes. When we received the destoner as part of the #lovefreshcherries challenge with Britmums I couldn’t wait to get started.
As well as eating them on their own we love mixing them up in a smoothie. I find freezing them (after you take the stones out) makes it loads nicer, more simple and also means you get the best and freshest all year round.
We don’t measure out when we do the smoothie but you’ll need a few tablespoons of oats (to make it more creamy), milk (we used almond to give it a more bakewell taste) and a handful of cherries.
Some other ways we enjoy cherries;
Porridge with a cherries on top / mixed inside.
Cherry yoghurt (or milk) ice lolly
Cherry infused water
