Advent Day 11 – Christmas This or That – Skinny Spending.

Each day of December we will have a new blogger telling us this or that. Check out Day 10 if you missed it. Today is day 11 and we have Melissa from Skinny Spending.

I’m Melissa from Skinny Spending – where we focus on having a full fat lifestyle on a low cal budget!

TwitterFacebook and Insta.

Real or fake tree?

Fake! Being a money saver I can’t stand the thought of paying out for a tree each year, not to mention needle drop! My fake tree will not be going anywhere for many years as it is 7ft and very good quality but hopefully one day it can be recycled.

Christmas pudding or chocolate log ?

Chocolate log all the way! I’m not a fan of Christmas pudding.

Sprouts or no sprouts ?

No sprouts – oh dear, I’m not very traditional up to now am I?!

Presents in morning or afternoon ?

Definitely morning! Even without young children in the family I could never wait until the afternoon – is this a thing some people actually do?! At the very least I could possibly hold a few presents back to open with visitors later in the day but the magic of christmas for me is waking up early and running into the living room to see if Father Christmas has been!

Santa or Father Christmas ?

I tend to say Father Christmas but either is fine.

Ginger bread or sugar cookies?

Gingerbread

Coloured lights or white lights ?

White lights – although we do have a smaller tree in the dining room with all the leftover decorations that don’t match, including coloured lights!

Angel or star on top of tree?

we have a star.

Hot chocolate or mulled wine?

Hmm, think it depends on what I’m doing! Nothing beats a hot chocolate on a cold afternoon, although a mulled wine in the evening in the Christmas markets is very enjoyable too!

How will you be celebrating Christmas?

My husband and 3 year old daughter will spend the morning at home before heading over the my mother in law’s for Christmas dinner with our extended family. We will also travel to my parents 120 miles away for a few days in between Christmas and New Year.

Come back tomorrow for DAY 12 and see who our next blogger is!
